Kevin R. Marton, who is on administrative leave from his position as principal at Tohickon Middle School following a domestic dispute, will enter a program for non-violent offenders, his attorney said Thursday.
The 53-year-old educator was arrested in August after he allegedly went to his estranged wife’s home in Doylestown Borough and entered it without permission. He then refused to leave after repeatedly being asked to, according to court documents.
Marton, who lives in Lambertville, waived his preliminary hearing in September, after two felony charges were withdrawn and an additional charge was amended by authorities.
His misdemeanor criminal trespass charge was negotiated to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD), a program for non-violent offenders with no prior — or a limited — record, Antonetta Stanuc, Marton’s lawyer said.
It is unclear if and when Marton will return to his job. Following his arrest, the Central Bucks School District listed his “anticipated return” from administrative leave as Oct. 21.
After the school board approved Marton’s leave, his name was removed from Tohickon Middle School’s website. It had not been reinstated as of Friday morning.
"We do not comment on personnel matters," said a spokesman for the Central Bucks School District, when asked if Marton had been reinstated to his position.
