How to submit ads

Ads can be submitted to the Bucks County Herald by e-mail, hand delivery of disc or through a service such as Sendspace.

The Bucks County Herald has a skilled Composition Department that can assist you with creating and updating your ad if needed.

Please contact your advertising sales representative to discuss layout and make arrangement (ie. copy, deadline paperwork, payment) . A proof will be released to you in a timely fashion for your approval before press.

When submitting electronic files, the following guidelines should be followed:

  • Tif or jpg files are acceptable (save tiffs with PC encoding and LZW compression, save jpgs as baseline standard and quality 10).
  • Tifs and jpgs should be 300dpi. All native files (Quark, Illustrator, InDesign) should be converted to PDF format.
E-Mail
  • All email submissions for advertising must be sent to your advertising sales rep.
  • Keep all emails under 10MB or compress larger files using Stuffit Deluxe or WinZip.
  • Please include the client's name and insertion date in the subject line of your email.
PDF Format
  • PDFs should be created using Acrobat Distiller using Press Quality job option.
  • Do not use PDF writer to create a PDF. (This is offered as a printer in Acrobat.) The PDF will not be suitable for printing.
  • All fonts must be embedded.
  • File settings from Quark should be 2400 dpi and 100 linescreen.
  • 4 color ads should be created as composite CMYK with all spot colors converted to process. RGB files must be converted to CMYK before creating the PDF.
