Tohickon Middle School principal Kevin R. Marton was placed on administrative leave Tuesday, following his Aug. 17 arrest during a domestic dispute with his estranged wife.
The leave is retroactive to Aug. 21, with his “anticipated return” set for Oct. 21, according to the Central Bucks school board’s Sept. 12 agenda.
The district did not say if the leave was paid or unpaid. Marton’s name has been removed from the district’s website and Kyle Dudley has been appointed interim principal.
Marton, 53, is facing a second degree felony for criminal trespass, as well as misdemeanor harassment charges after he allegedly went to his wife’s home on Mary Street in Doylestown Borough at approximately 9 p.m. Aug. 17. He entered the home, where he doesn’t live, and refused to leave after repeatedly being asked to, according to court documents.
Police said, Marton, who has been separated from his wife for about one year, went to her home after she had texted him and told him she was going to bed and would call him in the morning. She told police he was “repeatedly texting” her prior to arriving uninvited to her home.
Marton, who lives in Lambertville, reportedly told police he thought his wife was having an affair with another man and he thought the man was inside and he went inside to look for him.
Marton was released on $25,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 28.
