Posted

Neshaminy High School achieved the greatest percentage increase in seatbelt usage for the 17th annual Bucks County High School Seatbelt Safety Challenge presented by NJM Insurance Group.

Neshaminy student drivers posted a four percent increase (90% in the fall to 94% in the spring), which was the best of all 21 schools that participated in the challenge this year, according to TMA Bucks.

Neshaminy High School’s Interact Club under the direction of teacher Suzi Drake promoted the Seatbelt Challenge throughout the school year and received a cash grant and perpetual plaque from TMA Bucks for their accomplishment.

“I am so proud of the work our students have done around the goal of encouraging their classmates to make good choices in regard to driving safely,” said Drake. “We would like to thank TMA Bucks for organizing the Bucks County High School Seatbelt Safety Challenge and wish everyone a safe and happy summer.”

Neshaminy also had the greatest percentage increase during the 2010-11 school year.

Earlier this month, TMA Bucks announced New Hope-Solebury student drivers had the highest overall seatbelt use (98%) while Central Bucks High School East was voted the winner of this year’s Teen Driver Safety Video PSA Challenge powered by Comcast.
