Doylestown Presbyterian hosts choir workshop and community concert

Posted

Doylestown Presbyterian Church will present a weekend for choirs and singers, culminating in a free concert for the entire community.

DPC’s Celebrate the Arts Series welcomes composer Howard Helvey, who will lead a free, day-long workshop for area choirs and individual singers on Saturday, July 13.

• Participants will gather at the church located at 127 E. Court St. in Doylestown, from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 2 to 5 p.m., with a lunch break in between. Feel free to bring your own lunch and eat with others at the church. Beverages will be provided.

• Helvey will spend the day rehearsing some of his choral pieces, which participants will perform the following day.

• Choirs and singers interested in this unique opportunity to work directly with a well-known composer and perform in the following day’s concert must email Elaine at elainek@dtownpc.org and provide your name, email contact, and voice type by July 1.

The workshop comes to life for the public on Sunday, July 14 during a free Community Concert in the sanctuary at 4 p.m. All are invited to this uplifting musical experience and no tickets are required. Invite your friends and family. A free-will offering will be received.

Questions may be directed to Christian Menno, director of communications, at christianm@dtownpc.org.
