Anne-Marie Mulgrew and Dancers Company and Yu. S. Artistry present “Two Worlds” – A split bill featuring two new productions, for two performances only.

Yu S. Artistry is a relatively new company, based in New Hope, and directed by Japanese-born Yuki Ishiguro and his new wife, Olivia, who danced with my company for several years.

Shows will take place at The Performance Garage, 1515 Brandywine St., Philadelphia, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 28 and 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29. There will be a short Q & A after the 3 p.m. show.

Anne-Marie Mulgrew and Dancers Company (AMM & DCO) returns to The Performance Garage with its newest creation, “A Shout from the Bones” conceived and choreographed by Artistic Director Anne-Marie Mulgrew. “A Shout” is a response, to global violence, and the need for healing and action in today’s world.

Yu. S. Artistry will present the first half of its upcoming evening-length work, “The Dream of Akinosuke,” artistic director, Yuki Ishiguro’s newest piece. It will amalgamate a variety of Japanese fairy tales and mythology to create an exciting cast of characters that guide Akinousuke through his Odyssey. A profound homage to Japanese folklore, it is a deeply allegorical representation of the human experience and a celebration of Eastern culture.
