Williams Township observance Sunday

Williams Township residents will hold a Memorial Day remembrance ceremony at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 29, to honor fallen heroes, living veterans and active-duty service persons.

The sunset ceremony will be held at the Williams Township Municipal campus, 655 Cider Press Road in Williams Township.

The names of the fallen heroes whose names are engraved on the memorial plaque will be read by Peter Thompson. Jess Murray, a senior township veteran, will be honorary wreath-layer.

The Community Recognition Award will be given to Ronald Hineline, Veterans Memorial Committee member and volunteer for many township organizations.

Also participating will be the Wilson Area High School Band, members of the township’s Scout troops, the honor guard of the Marine Corps League/Northampton County Detachment, and more.

The community is invited to join this program of remembrance and gratitude, Parking is available at the township municipal building. Attendees are urged to bring their own chairs.
