The Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) and Home Builders Association of Bucks and Montgomery Counties (HBA) recently teamed up to host the second annual career fair for MBIT students, and the event was a resounding success.
Held at the Middle Bucks campus, the career fair provided students with the opportunity to connect with local industry partners and learn more about potential career paths.
Over 30 businesses and organizations participated in the career fair, offering more than 200 students information about their industries, career paths, and job opportunities. Students were able to speak with employers and present their resumes and career goals.
State Rep. Kristin Marcell took the time to attend the career fair, speaking with students and engaging with industry partners, all of which helped to make the event a success.
Also, MBIT recognized Women’s History Month, Women in Construction week and International Women’s Day in March. The event was an opportunity to highlight the achievements of women in construction. Providing a platform for aspiring female builders, architects, engineers, and tradespeople to connect with industry professionals, explore career pathways, and learn about opportunities in the construction field.
“We were excited to welcome members of the HBA to the second annual HBA & MBIT career fair on March 8,” said Dr. Mark Covelle, MBIT administrative director. “With businesses looking for more and more skilled workers, the students of MBIT have a real competitive advantage in business and industry. Business partners not only shared the various career pathways that exist for MBIT students, but also gave the students the opportunity to implement their employability skills by meeting with companies and sharing their resumes. Several students left the career fair with job offers in hand.”
Covelle added, “The partnership we have with the HBA is unique and mutually beneficial and we look forward to continued collaboration and cooperation.”
