Wax N Scent offers drawing classes for children

Posted

Wax N Scent Studio will offer children’s drawing classes on Saturday mornings beginning Sept. 23.

Classes are for children between ages 6 and 9 and will run every Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Materials, including markers and watercolor pencils, will be provided, and students will leave each class with a finished drawing.

Artist Bernadette Sigado will teach the class. Sigado runs a fashion illustration business and has widely exhibited her fashion drawings and paintings in the region and beyond. She has over 10 years’ experience teaching drawing.

Classes will be held at the Wax N Scent candle-making studio in New Hope. Studio owner Moe Simmons notes that her own passion for arts and crafts extends beyond the scented candles that customers make in her studio. Raised in a family steeped in the arts, she now wants to offer the local community a wide range of arts and crafts experiences.

“We believe offering such activities to children can serve as a valuable learning experience, enabling them to explore new avenues of self-expression and potentially hidden talents,” Simmons said.

The cost per class is $35. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins will be accepted based on availability. The studio will be closed to regular business during classes. Tickets can be purchased in advance on Eventbrite, in person, or over the phone. For information, call 215-648-1987.
