Village Fair plans are being finalized

Posted

Mark your calendars: Plans for the re-introduction of the very popular Village Fair, first held in 1961, are being finalized.

The 2023 Village Fair will take place at Central Park in Doylestown Township from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24.

The event will bring together local nonprofit organizations to raise money for community members in need of assistance with rising food, utility and housing costs. Like the old fashioned country fairs of years gone by, the 2023 event features live entertainment as well as numerous activity booths staffed by participating organizations. In addition, there will be a disc golf tournament and food trucks, including Rooster and Chick (sandwiches), A Taste of Philly (sandwiches) and Kresha Kreations (desserts).

djGroove will kick off the live entertainment, which begins at 12:15 p.m. and continues throughout the afternoon with demonstrations and performances by Bucks County Performing Arts, Action Karate, Fitzpatrick School of Irish Dance and The School of Rock.

Planned booths and activities include skeeball, bean bag toss and cornhole games, face painting, a children's caricature artist and more. There will be sports memorabilia and basket raffles at other booths. Both the Doylestown Historical Society and the Civil War Museum set up displays, while the Doylestown Rotary Club will offer a doughnut sale and doughnut toss game. The Doylestown Nature club will have a plant sale (cash only).

A rain or shine event, the Village Fair is sponsored by the nonprofit Village Improvement Association in partnership with Doylestown Township. Tickets are $5 per person. Children 6 and under are admitted free.
