Salvation Army Levittown delivers presents to children

Posted

The Salvation Army Levittown Corps distributed toys to families in need on Dec. 21 and 22.
Thanks to the generosity of the Bucks County community, The Salvation Army provided presents for nearly 899 children and 200 teens whose guardians cannot afford them.

“We are overwhelmed by the kindness and support of our Bucks County neighbors and are proud to be a part of a community that reaches out to take care of each other especially during these trying times,” said Capt. Jessie Kelly, corps officer, The Salvation Army Levittown Corps. “The pandemic and recent storms and flooding in the area have had devastating financial impacts on the people we serve throughout Bucks County. Children don’t always understand why they have very little under the tree. Thanks to the support we’ve received through our Angel Tree and Adopt-A-Family programs, we can take that burden off parents who are struggling to make ends meet. Their children will have gifts to open on Christmas morning and food on their table.”
To help The Salvation Army Levittown Corps provide year-round services to those in need, individuals can make a donation to its Virtual Red Kettle at salarmy.us/levittownredkettle.
