Salem Church blanket fundraiser to aid victims of natural disasters

Posted

Salem Church of Doylestown is raising funds to help provide blankets to victims of natural disasters, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods and wildfires.

Last year, CWS (Church World Service) distributed over 60,000 blankets around the world to shelters and community organizations that help those whose homes and lives have been destroyed. Salem Church asks the public to help “Blanket the World with Love” by purchasing blankets for $10 each.

“We have this unique opportunity to provide warmth and shelter to those affected by the wildfires in California and the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria,” event organizer Beth Mann said. “Out of our vast resources, we can each contribute to help those less fortunate.”

To buy a blanket, write a check to Salem Church and mail it to 186 E. Court St., Doylestown, PA 18901. Clearly mark in the memo “Blanket Sunday.”
