Indoor track and field: Duffy, Hamilton, CB West boys silver in states

The Pennsylvania Track & Field Coaches Association Indoor State Championship took place at State College on Saturday.

Central Bucks West senior Mimi Duffy took home silver in the 200 meter (24.59). Her CB West boys teammates also silvered in the 4x800 meter, clocking a 7:48.84. Archbishop Wood sophomore Gwen Hamilton took home the area’s third silver, with a 2:08.17 in the girls 800 meter.

The Central Bucks East girls 4x800 relay team’s 9:33.2 was good enough for a bronze medal. Duffy claimed fourth in the girls 400 meter (56.50); the Central Bucks South girls distance medley team (12:33.34) also took home fourth. Titan junior Riley Rooney was sixth in the mile (5:03.96). The Pennridge 4x800 meter girls team also took sixth (9:39.32).

The CB West 4x200 meter girls relay teams (1:44.53), the Council Rock North boys 4x800 meter team (7:59.55) and Pennridge junior Ashley Landis (2:17.03 in the girls 800 meter) all medaled with an eighth place. Landis’ fellow Ram Michael Muiruri triple jumped 43 feet, 8 inches for ninth place while the CB West 4x400 girls relay team clocked a 4:03.25 for 10th place.

Here are the other results from state competition. The CB East 4x200 boys relay team (1:31.24), the CB West boys 4x400 team (3:24.62), the Council Rock North boys distance medley team (10:52.51) and the CB East girls distance medley team (12:56.14) all finished 11th. CB South senior Lucas Knappenberger was 12th in pole vault with a 14-foot even jump. CB East junior Tieren Mead placed 13th in high jump with an even 6 feet. CR North senior Brady Ott also finished in 13th with a 4:20.06 mile.

CR South senior Grace Patterson placed 14th in the high jump with 5-01. Golden Hawks classmate Julia Rhodes came in 16th in the girls 400 meter (59.08).

Five relay teams rounded out the competitors: the Pennridge 4x400 meter boys (3:26.67, 15th place), the CB East 4x400 meter boys (3:28.47, 16th place), the Pennridge 4x200 meter boys (1:31.95, 18th place), the CB East 4x400 meter girls (4:09.08, 19th place) and the CB South 4x800 meter girls (10:32.09, 20th place).
