There was a suggestion made during the recent New Hope Borough Council meeting, according to Blake Barrigh’s report in the June 13 Herald, that “the Odette’s building essentially blocks pedestrians from reaching the canal at that location.” This is false.
The Odette’s building in no way restricts access to the Delaware Canal. In fact, bicycles are available for rent at Odette’s with clear access for cyclists and pedestrians to the towpath. There is also clear access to the canal itself.
Making false and inaccurate statements about anything is wrong and only serves to confuse people.
