Posted

Titusville Presbyterian Church presents Civil War era artists Libby Prison Minstrels for a one-hour musical concert from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18.

Libby Prison Minstrels offer history and education through music and have entertained audiences since the early 1990s. They have programs of the Civil War era with a brief history behind a few of the songs written by Steven Foster, Dan Emmit, and a number of other period composers of the 19th century.

Their music programs include Americana, WWI and WWII with popular tunes of wartime, and also period railroad and maritime songs. They specialize in patriotic tunes from the past and present that symbolize America. They have performed shows at Burlington and Ocean County Libraries for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Flag Day, and Veterans Day.

Libby Prison Minstrels also have performed in Washington D.C., at the Capital and Fords Theatre, and in Port Norris, N.J., on board New Jersey’s tall ship, the A.J Meerwald, while sailing. They have played in Gettysburg, at Citizen’s Bank Arena in Philadelphia and more.

Admission is $15 if pre-registered and $20 at the door. Family pricing is available. For information, call the church office at 609-737-1385 or visit titusvillechurch.org.
