The Solebury Township Police Department received a report of a large black bear roaming the area of Aquetong Road and Upper Mountain Road Upper / York Road.
“We warn residents to maintain a safe distance from the bear, not to approach the bear and to secure their garbage, bird feeders and other food that may attract the bear. Make no attempts to feed the bear,” police said via a posting on CrimeWatch just before 3 p.m. today.
“Anyone who happens to come in contact with a bear should remain calm, make noise and slowly back away,” police added.
