Doylestown American Legion constructing Veterans Path of Honor

Posted

On Sept. 23, members of Doylestown American Legion Post 210 gathered to begin construction on the Veterans Path of Honor.

The current brick path leads from the street to the front steps of the Legion Hall on North Street. These bricks were placed by the Legionaries in the late 1930s and will be replaced with bricks honoring and remembering the veterans who have honorably served the United States.

This is the first section of the path that is being prepared. Each section will have 50 engraved bricks placed to honor veterans. The veteran’s information will be engraved on each brick.

The brick pathway is the place to forever visually remember and honor veterans. Orders for engraved bricks have been received from veterans and non-veterans to memorialize their family members, friends, and themselves. Engraved bricks represent past veterans from the Mexican War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, and the War on Terrorism.

Anyone who is interested in having a memorial brick placed in the path to honor a member of their family (dad, mom, brother, sister or relative who served) or themselves, can visit the American Legion Post 210 website or contract Mike Arenaz (215-872-4019) or Tom Tirney (215-345-8646). If there is no answer, leave a message with name, phone number and indicate it is about the Path of Honor.
