Bucks County Classic launches Give Back Prime to support Opportunity Council

Posted

The Bucks County Classic bike race has launched a campaign to support the Bucks County Opportunity Council and racers in the Doylestown Health Pro Women and Thompson Pro Men races.

The Give Back Prime is an initiative to give bonus Prime awards during the pro races and help support the work Bucks County Opportunity Council is doing in the community.

A Prime is a mid race award in bike racing, pronounced “Preem” and coming from the French word for bonus. Primes are awarded on certain laps during the race. The laps are announced by the ringing of a bell signifying that, in the following lap, the first rider to cross the line will receive a bonus award.

Primes animate the race but also serve to award the riders out there doing the work to set their teammates up for success.

Funds raised for the Give Back Prime will be split 50/50 between race Prime winners and the Bucks County Opportunity Council to support its work to reduce poverty and promote self sufficiency in our community.
