As a 40-year member of State Street Players I was flabbergasted to learn of Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s pastor will no longer support the troupe (“Our Lady of Mt. Carmel cuts ties with State Street Players,” June 20).

In the wake of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel’s pastor’s recent decision to cut ties with the State Street Players over language in play, the group said it is “looking ahead to the future.”

A Doylestown pastor’s decision to end his church’s longstanding relationship with a theater group over language in a play shocked the actors.
