Posted

Williams Township residents will hold a Veterans Day program at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, to pay tribute to the nation’s veterans.

The program will be held at the Williams Township Municipal Campus, 655 Cider Press Road, in Williams Township.

Retired Marine Sgt. E5 Nathan S. Nace, resident of Palmer Township who grew up in Williams Township, will offer thoughts on “A Veteran’s Service is a Lifelong Calling,” based on his six years of service at many locations.

Students from Williams Township Elementary School will offer personal salutes to members of the service branches.

The Rev. Paul Leonard, pastor of St. John’s Church of Morgan Hill, will offer opening and closing prayers.

Michael Bryant, a township supervisor, will serve as master of ceremonies. Flag raisers include Lester Race, Don Hockman, Jess Murray and Mike Strawn. Peter Thompson will offer thoughts for silent commemoration for veterans who have died since last year.

The community at large is invited to join this program of recognition. Parking is available at the Williams Township Municipal Building. Attendees are urged to bring their own chairs.
