We all have a sense of inferiority, but we respond to it in different ways.
Some of us try to be as good as we can to prove to everyone, and ourselves, that we aren’t inferior.
Some of us, instead, seek out and persecute people who differ from us, especially a minority group that is less able to defend itself, to prove to everyone, and ourselves, that we are not one of them.
Both reactions are straight jackets at extreme levels; but in either case, one course is constructive, the other destructive.
