Weekly Coronavirus Briefing for May 25

Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 2,907,324

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that as of May 25,  the statewide cumulative total cases of COVID-19  is 2,907,324. That is up 29,664 cases from the previous week.

The Pennsylvania death registry reported a cumulative total of 44,814 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

There are 2,404,744 confirmed cases and 502,580 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules, and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

Numbers by county as of May 25

  • Bucks County: 129,314 cases and 1,921 deaths
  • Chester County: 97,471 cases and 1,172 deaths
  • Delaware County: 116,340 cases and 1,881 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 93,337 cases and 1,260 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 162,771 cases and 2,345 deaths
  • Northampton County: 83,528 cases and 1,109 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 323,135 cases and 5,130 deaths

The Department of Health continues to provide the public with extensive and frequently updated data on both the COVID-19 dashboard and the vaccine dashboard. Both dashboards provide an interactive experience for the user to review statewide and local-level data updated daily.

The department will continue to provide data via online dashboards; however,  the dashboards will be updated on Wednesdays.
