Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 3,167,638

Harrisburg — The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed that as of Aug. 24, the statewide cumulative total cases of COVID-19 is 3,167,638.

There are 2,611,376 confirmed cases and 556,262 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases.

The Pennsylvania death registry reported a cumulative total of 46,596 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules, and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. Wearing a mask is an effective way to reduce the risk of catching or spreading COVID-19.

Numbers by county as of Aug. 24

  • Bucks County: 140,577 cases and 1,999 deaths
  • Chester County: 106,503 cases and 1,210 deaths
  • Delaware County: 127,416 cases and 1,918 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 100,521 cases and 1,292 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 179,236 cases and 2,425 deaths
  • Northampton County: 89,876 cases and 1,151 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 356,222 cases and 5,246 deaths

The Department of Health continues to provide the public with extensive and frequently updated data on both the COVID-19 dashboard and the vaccine dashboard. Both dashboards provide an interactive experience for the user to review statewide and local-level data updated daily.

The department will continue to provide data via online dashboards; however, the dashboards will be updated on a weekly basis.
