Warrington community center breaks ground Friday

Posted

Work on a new community center in Warrington will get underway Friday, when the $1.7 million project breaks ground at Lions Pride Park on Bradley Road.

The third phase of the park’s construction will be the Lindy Community Center, which will include a multi-purpose room able to accommodate 100, a lobby space and an outside covered porch and patio area, the township said.

The center, the township said, will help Warrington centralize its recreational activities. Lindy Properties provided partial funding for the center in exchange for naming rights, officials noted.

Located at 3129 Bradley Road, Lions Pride Park sits on the former site of Twin Oaks Day Camp and includes Lindy Communities Kids Mountain and Toll Brothers Grove.

“Lindy Communities has been a valued community partner with its commitment to providing great places for children and families to play and exercise,” said Fred Gaines, vice chairman of the township’s board of supervisors, in a statement. “We couldn’t be more pleased to have them in our corner.”

An additional $500,000 for the center is coming from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, part of the state’s Department of Commerce and Economic Development, the township said.

Other funding sources include Warrington and fees for naming rights. To learn more about naming opportunities, contact Township Manager Barry Luber at bluber@warringtontownship.org or call 215-343-9350 ext. 103.

The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking at 11 a.m., March 10, at Lions Pride Park.
