Posted

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7921 & American Legion Post 120 will hold a ceremony on Nov. 11, honoring all U.S. military veterans past and present, at the James Toscanni Building at 320 N. Union St., Lambertville, N.J.

This milestone also marks the grand opening of the refurbished facility that was damaged by hurricane Ida.

“Hurricane Ida took more than a building from us that day, but the outpouring of support from the community was a humbling experience and a demonstration of the best of the American Spirit,” said Robert Miller, post commander, VFW Post 8390.

The ceremony is sponsored by James Toscanni American Legion Post 120, Earl Knoster Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7921, Sons of American Legion Squadron 120 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 120.

Memorial wreaths will be placed at the American Legion Monument and the Lambertville War Memorial at York and Union streets.

Performing the national anthem is Joseph Novak, of the Hopewell/Princeton Volunteer Fireman. Guardians of the National Cemetery Washington Crossing Cemetery will fire a 21-gun salute to honor the fallen.

Marcy Morrison of the Lambertville Brass Band will perform taps.

The ceremony is a rain or shine event; free parking and restrooms are available. Light Refreshments are provided by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 120 for everyone in attendance inside the American Legion Hall.
