Uno Pizzeria closing Warrington store Sunday

First it was Applebee’s. Now it’s Uno’s.

Uno Pizzeria & Grill in Warrington will close its doors for the last time Sunday, the restaurant chain announced earlier this week.

After 25 years, the once-popular casual dining spot at 1661 Easton Road is following in the footsteps of Applebee’s, a similar restaurant that closed its doors in the Barn Plaza shopping center just down the road in May.

Known for its Chicago-style deep dish pizza, Uno’s parent company went into Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010 and slowly began closing its businesses across the country as it tried to restructure its debt, according to Reuters.

In a social media post, that seemed to surprise many, the restaurant thanked the community “for 25 years of fun service” and urged customers to stop in to say goodbye.

Uno’s will be missed, said several online commenters.

“U nooo,” wrote one.

“I’m so sad,” said another.

One wrote, “Another restaurant that worked through the pandemic is leaving. Good luck to its employees.”

The restaurant was always supportive of nonprofits, hosting many fundraisers, said one woman, who noted her organization is having one there Saturday.

But, times change. The Barn Plaza has seen its share of shifts this year. The 14-screen Regal Barn Cinema closed in February after 56 years, and Marshall’s/Home Goods recently relocated to the Cross Keys Place shopping center in Plumstead. Whole Foods is expected to take over the former Marshall’s space, when it opens its first Bucks County store later this year.
