Travis Manion Foundation to host 9/11 memorial event

Posted

Volunteers from Travis Manion Foundation (TMF), one of the nation’s leading veteran service organizations, will host a 9/11 memorial event to honor all those lost on 9/11 and in the wars since.

The event will take place at the Bucks County Justice Center, 100 N. Main St., Doylestown, on Sunday, Sept. 11, beginning at 8:46 a.m., the same time that the first plane hit the North Tower.

During this ceremony, a bell will be rung and the names of 2,977 9/11 victims and 7,126 service members killed since 9/11 will be read aloud. With the reading of every name for those lost, this event is anticipated to take approximately 12 hours.

“Each and every one of those 10,000 souls deserves to have their name read aloud and the bell tolled on their behalf,” said Kenny Bauer, TMF volunteer and 9/11 memorial event organizer. “It has never been more important that we keep their memory alive and let those who have sacrificed so much over the past 20 years know that we will never forget.”

Donations to support this memorial event will fund five TMF Expeditions for Gold Star family members. TMF Expeditions provide unique character and leadership development opportunities for families of the fallen, to create long-lasting impact, carry on their loved one’s legacy of service, and build their own path forward.

Expedition participants leave this life-changing opportunity inspired and equipped to lead in their communities, embodying the “If Not Me, Then Who…” ethos. Donations to the memorial event can be made at donate.travismanion.org/campaign/2022-remember-the-sacrifices-of-september-11th/c416245.

The foundation is based in Doylestown.
