Tinicum Arts Festival Art Barn awards announced

The Tinicum Civic Association has announced the award-winning artists in the 71st Tinicum Arts Festival’s Art Barn exhibit at Tinicum Park, Erwinna, held July 9 and 10.

A total of 147 artists participated. The judges were painter Tom Chesar from Ringoes, N.J., and painter Christine McHugh from Richlandtown.

Best of Show was awarded to Richard Lennox of Erwinna, for his oil painting “Roofs and Nature 2.”

Awards and honorable mentions were given in seven categories:

*Acrylics: 1st place, Bill Jersey, “Rising Shadows”; 2nd place, Brian Boru O’Brien, “Komodo Hike”; 3rd place, Durand Petizel, “Market Place, Port au Prince”; Honorable Mentions, Allen Pitts, “Warm Snow” and Edward Baumlin, “Quiet Moments.”

*Oils: 1st place, Ingrid Rothenberg, “In Profile”; 2nd place, John Metz, “Winter Behind the Beach Dunes”; 3rd place, Jas Szygiel, “Winter Field Edge”; Honorable Mentions, Sharon Gushue, “Green Lane”, Jill Pozadas, “Hills of Santa Fe” and Dorothy Hoeschen “Forest Floor2.”

*Other Media: 1st place, Robin Crowley, “Aurelia”; 2nd place, Ginny Perry, “Van Sant Airport Field”; 3rd place, Jenny Boccardo, “The Fox Went Out”; Honorable Mentions, Yvonne Adkins “Ay Chihuahua” and Phillip Lang “Siena Cathedral.”
