4th annual “Paint Our Towns” exhibition set to open at AOY

The AOY Art Center/Art Gallery announces the opening of the 2024 plein air exhibition, featuring a collection of outdoor artworks created by 50 talented artists from the greater Bucks County region.

For the last two weeks, local artists have been “painting the towns” as part of the “Paint Our Towns” Plein Air Open sponsored by AOY Art Center in Lower Makefield. The artists have been in Tyler State Park, Lake Afton, Core Creek, Washington Crossing State Park and Historic Newtown, Yardley, Historic Fallsington and Langhorne, as well as points in between.

The products of their work will be on exhibition at AOY Art Center, 949 Mirror Lake Road, on the Patterson Farm, beginning Saturday, May 18, from noon to 5 p.m., and then Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through June 2. Interested persons can also view and purchase artwork at the online gallery 24/7 at

The exhibition features over 120 original artworks. From picturesque landscapes to scenes of local communities, boroughs and parks, the collection captures the splendor of nature, architecture, and human interaction with the surroundings.

The gallery is open to the public at no cost and is hosted by the participating artists. Each artist can submit up to three of their best works to the exhibition. Those works will be judged and awarded prizes by award-winning plein air artist Joseph Gyurcsak.

Gyurcsak paints a broad range of subject matter, including interiors, still life, figure and landscape painting. He has a keen sense for capturing the essence of his subject matter with a bold and candid approach. He exhibits in galleries across the country and his award winning paintings interest collectors nationwide.
