Posted

Three busy Bucks County intersections are scheduled for signal improvements that should help traffic flow and safety.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s “Green Light-Go” program recently awarded Doylestown, Northampton and Middletown townships more than $750,000 in grants.

This is the second year Doylestown Township has received support to ease traffic concerns in the area of Edison Furlong Road and Route 611/Easton Road, the state said, in a statement. The latest round of funding awarded the township $279,000 to update traffic signals at the intersection. Last year, the township was awarded $100,000 to install signage on Route 611/ Easton Road from Edison Furlong Road to Kelly Road.

Northampton received $368,000 to update traffic light equipment at Route 332/Newtown-Richboro Road, Holland Road and Route 332/Newtown-Richboro Road and Rock Way/Spring Garden Mill Road.

In Middletown, $138,000 will be used for signal upgrades throughout the township, the state said.
