Squarehead Industries opens eco-conscious shop in New Hope

Posted

Squarehead Industries, a new retail shop offering sustainable products influenced by a balance of Scandinavian minimalism and California Bohemian designers celebrated its opening Friday, June 4, on West Bridge Street in New Hope.
Each product is hand-selected by owners and local residents Gabrielle Hoffman and her husband, Teemu Korpijaakko, who will introduce the New Hope community to designers from around the world chosen not only for their style and quality, but also for their positive environmental impact on the planet.
Hoffman is no stranger to the New Hope retail scene as she was the co-owner of Swarm, a popular women’s clothing boutique.
The shop offers a selection of “casual-comfy-chic” women’s and men’s apparel and accessories. Offerings include hand-knit cardigans and polo’s, gauzy midi dresses and billowy pants, handcrafted textiles and fabrics for the home, housewares and apothecary.
“We are proud to share our curated space where every product has a past and a story to tell,” Hoffman said. “Most of our merchandise was either handmade or recycled. It’s truly wonderful to build a sustainable collection that is a natural extension for a modern lifestyle.”

Clothing brands include: Aterlier Delphine, Outerknown and Nili Lotan with a variety of home brands from Injiri (textiles), Brooklyn Pottery, Iris Hantverk, and much more.
In addition, Squarehead is offering bike rentals with baskets and bike locks.
“We have acquired a fleet of 10 Priority three-speed cruisers,” Korpijaakko said. “You can rent by the hour or for a half-day. The bikes are an important aspect of our aesthetic and lifestyle, which is to provide a means for visitors and locals to connect with nature and explore our beautiful river towns and natural resources.”
Squarehead Industries is a small venture capital company started by two Scandinavian childhood friends, Eric Fredricksen and Korpikaakk.
Squarehead Industries is open Wednesday through Sunday starting at 11 a.m. Closing hours vary depending upon the season. Visit at 36 W. Bridge St. or online. For information, email gabby@squareheadindustries.com or call 267-743-2117.
