Sourland Train Station Series returns this fall – with a twist

Posted

The Sourland Conservancy has decided to take its annual education series on the road this fall.

Previously held at the Hopewell Train Station, the series has been renamed “Talk of the Sourlands.” Talks will take place at the Titusville Presbyterian Church and Duke Farms, among other locations throughout the Sourland Region in hopes of broadening its reach.

A hybrid model will also be implemented, allowing participants to join from the comfort of their own homes. Talks will range over a number of topics from sketching outdoors, to raptor birds, to deer management, and more.

Admission to all talks is free, but registration is required. Donations are always appreciated. Membership support and donations provide the resources for the Sourland Conservancy to create educational events like this. Check out sourland.org/events/to find out more information.

The series begins with Barbara DiLorenzo at 7 p.m. Sept. 14, for a presentation on how to select a subject to draw while out of doors. Her talk, “Sketching the Sourlands,” will illustrate the process of bringing friends and family – of all ages – outside to draw and paint natural spaces. The talk will take place at the church, and online. Bring a pencil and a sketch pad to draw along with DiLorenzo.
