A Bensalem man pleaded guilty Nov. 16, 2023, to selling a counterfeit prescription pill laced with fentanyl that led to a woman’s overdose death in Bristol Township last year.
Shakur Ali Brisbon, 24, of the 1200 block of Neshaminy Valley Drive, was charged in February with providing the drug that killed 23-year-old Olivia Seaberg.
Brisbon appeared before Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Raymond F. McHugh last Thursday and entered a guilty plea to drug delivery resulting in death. Sentencing was deferred for another month. Brisbon has been in Bucks County Correctional Facility since his arrest in February.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s office gave the following account.
This investigation began after Bristol Township police were dispatched at 3:55 a.m. Nov. 24, 2022, to an apartment in the 6900 block of Bristol-Emelie Road for a report of a woman who was not breathing. Upon arrival, Bristol Township officers located Seaberg on the floor of the residence, and she was later declared deceased.
During the investigation, police located a blue pill next to where Seaberg was located, along with an empty prescription pill bottle that was recovered from the nightstand. They also recovered marijuana and Seaberg’s cellphone. A forensic search of the phone led to the discovery of a social media conversation she had with someone, later identified as Brisbon, about buying oxycodone prescription tablets and marijuana.
The blue pill recovered from Seaberg’s residence was tested and a lab report confirmed it contained fentanyl, along with other substances. The Bucks County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Seaberg’s death was caused by fentanyl toxicity.
