On Saturday, Oct. 14, the Doylestown Rugby Men’s Team traveled to Philadelphia to play the Philly-Whitemarsh Rugby Club. The home team, which is in first place of the division, managed to take advantage of the weather conditions and experience.

While the Dragons had periods of great rugby play, it was not enough to win on the road. Philly-Whitemarsh beat Doylestown 42-12, with Shannon Pearson scoring a try, followed by a successful conversion by Kevin Hocking. Matt (Freddie) Frederick also scored a try. The Doylestown Dragons look forward to getting back on the right foot Saturday, when it takes on the Reading Rugby Club at home at the Maennerchor Field, 3650 Cold Spring Creamery Road in Doylestown. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
