The Doylestown Rugby women’s rugby team lost 35-42 in a close home match against Phoenixville Whitehorse on Saturday, Oct. 7.

Try scorers for Doylestown were: Kelly Albanir (two), Rachel Dayton (one), Nikki Fairman (one), and Maddie Groninger (one). Katie Walston- Frederick made five conversions.

The Dragons will take on Harrisburg Women away on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The Doylestown Rugby Academy high school girls team had two teams participate in their home tournament on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Team 1 had a 3-1 record, with wins against West End (36-5), Conestoga 1 (28-10) and Conestoga 2 (17-0), and a 14-22 loss to Knightmares 1. Try scorers for the Dragons were Reaghan King (four), Sydney Haddon (three), Maggie Austin (two), Kayla Robinson (two) Nolah Flynn (two), Daisie Jurbala (one) and Noelle Robinson (one). Flynn made 10 conversions.

Team 2 went 2-2 on the day, with wins against Blackthorn Rugby (27-10), Conestoga 1 (17-10), and losses to Morris Rugby (10-12) and Knightmares (0-36). Try scorers were Nora Rosenburg (three), Siena Accardi (two), Addy LaCarrubba (two), Daisie Jurbala (two), and Ashley Kelly (one). Accardi added two conversions and LaCarrubba added one conversion.

The middle school girls were able to get three wins in all three matches against a motley side. The girls went 25-14, 24-0 and 29-20. Try scorers were Makenzie Harriett-Clay (10), Ashley Kelly (three) and Vivian Foley (one). Kelly added four conversions.

Doylestown will participate in Cumberland Valley’s tournament on Sunday, Oct. 15.
