The Friends will have home-baked cookies and treats donated by some of the best bakers in the area. The Gift Boutique offers unique gifts for the busy shopper.

Gift choices include: Rocky Top Farm (handspun yarn and related knitted items); The Beckoning Cat (handcrafted jewelry including chainmaille, paper beads, and wire rings); Mementos to Cherish (crafts fabricated from vintage quilts, linens, buttons, lace, etc.); Norwex (natural cleaning and body products);

Tapestry Totes & More (knitted hats, mitts, and scarves); Jean Anthony Designs (fine art jewelry handcrafted in silver and gold, with precious and semi-precious stones); Sue’s Wood Craft (wood cutting boards, hand-turned bowls, rolling pins, wooden games, twig pots, and holiday decorations); Leaf Impressions (botanical printed scarves and other items);

Peggy Douglas (hand-thrown pottery bowls and mugs, all food-safe glazes, microwave and oven safe); and Friends of the Riegelsville Public Library (an assortment of purchased and handcrafted items).

Over the last 13 years, the nonprofit Friends group given greater than $27,000 in combined cash and non-cash donations to the Riegelsville Public Library as a result of its fundraising efforts.

Additional volunteer bakers are needed: Two raffle tickets for gift-wrapped baskets will be given to bakers for every one dozen cookies donated toward this event. Non-bakers will be able to purchase raffle tickets at the event.

Donated cookies can be dropped off between 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Riegelsville Borough Hall building, or before 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18. Donated cookies need to be placed in disposable containers, and information needs to be provided as to whether or not they contain nuts.
