Review: Don’t miss Bea Sagar’s “All Connected” show this weekend

Posted

Beatricia Sagar’s massive project “We Are All Connected” will end its installation at the Silo Gallery in Solebury Township Friday, Sept. 9, so this weekend and next week are a last chance to see it in a local venue.

It’s an exhibition worth viewing.

At the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic, Bea, like many artists found herself closed and unproductive as others were during the early days. She came across a blank puzzle and was inspired to use puzzle pieces to symbolize the connectedness of all who were separated.

She sent 3x3-inch puzzle pieces to friends and artists (with a return envelope stamped and ready to mail) and waited for returns of creative art. She assembled the returns into colorful 12x15-inch puzzles in random order and framed them. Some are paintings, some are photographs and some became three-dimensional and the stand on their own.

She publicized the effort on Instagram and the project took off. To date, Bea has received more than 1,500 puzzle pieces and they’re hanging on the white walls of the converted barn space that is the Silo Gallery, 6776 Upper York Road, New Hope 18938.

No stranger to Bucks County, Beatricia Sagar had a gallery in New Hope Borough in the 1970s. Since then she has moved on to New York and Miami.
