Republican National Committee hosts leadership training

Posted

More than 50 volunteers attended a leadership training session in Doylestown Tuesday to prepare for the midterm elections in November.
Hosted by the Republican National Committee, the Republican Leadership Initiative emphasized the importance of victories for the party in the upcoming elections and the need to use a “data-driven ground game.”
“We’re not just going to ask for the votes two weeks before the election, RNC Co-chair Tommy Hicks told the group. “We have an opportunity now because of what the Democrats have become … to deliver freedom to all Americans.”
Hicks said, “the GOP is roaring back to life in the Philadelphia suburbs and that momentum is rising heading into the midterm elections.” Republicans, he added, are “fully focused on taking back the House, the Senate and the governor’s mansion.”

Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick also spoke, noting the pivotal role of Bucks County. Pennsylvania Republicans, he said, made historic gains in last year’s elections, winning three of four judicial races, including a Supreme Court seat, and winning school board races.
The RNC said, Pennsylvania Republicans have contacted more than 600,000 voters and recruited more than 1,000 volunteers and closed the registration gap by over 200,000 registrants in 24 months.
Allie Carroll, Pennsylvania communications director for the RNC, contributed to this story.
