Quilts of Valor covers veterans with gratitude at Buckingham Springs

Posted

On Saturday morning, 47 veterans living at the Village of Buckingham Springs received handmade quilts from the Quilts of Valor Foundation, a national organization that honors those who’ve served in the armed forces.

Founded in 2003 by “Blue Star” mother Catherine Roberts, of Maryland, the organization has, since 2011, gifted nearly 400,000 quilts to thank and comfort veterans.

There are more than 600 quilting groups aligned with Quilts of Valor nationwide, including affiliates in Yardley and Hamilton Township, according to the organization’s website — www.qovf.org.
