The Quakertown field hockey team defeated host Palisades 2-0 on Sept. 1 to notch its second shutout win in the first week of the season.
The Panthers’ Kaitlin Calvello scored in the second quarter and teammate Katelyn Landis netted the insurance goal in the fourth quarter.
Quakertown kicks off a three-game homestand on Thursday against Wissahickon. The Panthers host Pennridge Sept. 11 and Hatboro-Horsham the following day.
Palisades has two opportunities this week to pick up its first win of the season. The Pirates played Salisbury on Wednesday (results unavailable at press time) and host Moravian Academy on Saturday.
