Phillips’ Mill 94th Juried Art Exhibition opens this weekend

Posted

Autumn officially arrives in Bucks County with the 94th Juried Art Exhibition at Phillips’ Mill opening Sept. 23 and running through Oct. 29.

The highly regarded art show continues the traditions of its founders, featuring an array of fine art created by over 350 regional artists and showcased at the historic mill.

Nestled along scenic River Road, the gallery at Phillips’ Mill will be open daily from 1-5 p.m. The show will also be available for viewing and purchases online 24/7. Distinguished artists Syd Carpenter, Al Gury, Jill Rupinski, Lauren Sandler, and TK Smith lent their expertise to jury the more than 600 framed, sculpture, and unframed portfolio submissions received this year.

Among the outstanding works on display this year will be Honored Artist Pamela Miller’s “The Phillips’ Mill Party Cat,” chosen as the 2023 Signature Image featured in the show’s advertising and marketing materials, including banners, lawn signs, postcards, posters and invitations.

All artwork is available for sale and artists will be on hand to meet and greet guests throughout the run of the show. Be sure to check out the “Meet the Artists” schedule at www.phillipsmill.org/art/juried-art-show to find out when your favorite artist will be in-house to engage with visitors about their work.

An elegant Opening Night Preview Reception for patron-level supporters and all submitting artists, a much-anticipated annual event, will be held Friday, Sept. 22 along the picturesque Primrose Creek on the grounds of the beloved Mill. Lights and a tent, cocktails, and the camaraderie of art enthusiasts always enhances the excitement surrounding the presentation of awards for each year’s show. With $12,000 in awards to be granted, there will be much to celebrate on this 94th anniversary of the art show.

To make a donation at the patron level and attend this year’s reception, visit the Phillips’ Mill website. Your support is deeply appreciated and helps to keep the time-honored art exhibition thriving after nearly a century.

From traditional Bucks County landscapes to the modern and abstract, Phillips’ Mill embraces the world of art in all its forms of expression. By inviting a different array of jurors every year, each show results in a new look at what our artist community is presenting to the world.

Mill members take great pride in its rich history and welcome the membership of all who appreciate the arts and the profound heritage of the beloved mill.
