Pennridge High School senior Shane Velez has been nominated as a 2022 High School All-American.
Velez is one of only nine players from Pennsylvania and one of only a handful of soccer standouts to be chosen from Southeastern Pennsylvania. According to the All-American selection committee, “Shane was selected for his elite level of play at the club level in major tournaments across the country and for his play at the USYS national championships this past summer. Throw in his high school resume and Shane is exactly what this All-American team roster is looking for.”
As a nominee, Velez will now be evaluated by a panel who will make the final decision for official All-American status this month and play in the All-American invitational soccer game in Florida on Dec. 10.
In addition to his accolades on the field, Velez is equally impressive as a student. His overall GPA is 4.429, his class rank is 7, his SAT Score is 1440, and he has chosen to take rigorous courses at Pennridge High School and is planning to possibly major in engineering while in college.
