Newtown Theatre presents 1940s-style Stars & Stripes Variety Show

Posted

To salute the nation’s veterans, the historic Newtown Theatre will present “Stars & Stripes: A Vintage Variety Show” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12.

A percentage of ticket sales from the event will be donated to the Travis Manion Foundation.

The 1940s-style show will loosely mimic a WWII-era revue with live swing music, newsreels, comedy, cabaret and more. It will capture the spirit of late-war GI encampments in the European and Pacific theaters, toeing the line among reenactment, education, and entertainment. Enjoy an afternoon of nostalgia, old-style glamour, snazzy hosts, and quippy comedians – all with a patriotic flair.

Tickets are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com for $32 per person or $27 for theater members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $42 at the door on the day of the show (if available). All seating is general admission.

The theater is located at 120 N. State St. in Newtown Borough.
