Makers Alley Juried Artist & Artisan Exhibition to open at New Hope Arts Center

Posted

Collectors, art enthusiasts, makers of all kinds and the general public will be treated to an outstanding array of visual delights during the collaboration between Makers Alley and New Hope Arts Center for the 4th annual Makers Alley Juried Artist & Artisan Exhibition.

Opening Saturday, Oct. 7, at New Hope Arts’ newly renovated gallery at 2 Stockton Ave. in New Hope, the exhibition will be on view Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 5 p.m., Oct. 7 to 29.

The presentation is a collaboration between two participating supporters, Makers Alley and the New Hope Arts Center, of the ARTOber Festival that includes over 40 arts and cultural organizations and the growing business community that supports the local artistic and cultural community.

“It’s been an honor to be invited to collaborate with New Hope Arts in their newly completed arts center for their opening fall show,” said Peter Rosenthal, founder of Makers Alley. “We were overwhelmed by the extraordinary response to our call for submissions this year. I think you’ll enjoy the wide variety of exceptional work.”

“We’ve been watching what Makers Alley has been doing to pull together the artistic community in our area for the last few years, injecting a sense of new and exciting work in our traditionally rich Delaware River Valley, and decided to collaborate with them during the ARTOber festival,” said Carol Cruickshanks, executive director of New Hope Arts.

This years’ jurors, Annelies Van Dommelen, one of the Delaware River Valley’s most prominent mixed media artists and cultural personalities, and Jonathan LeVine, a well-known New York City art dealer/gallerist of street art and pop surrealism, made their final choices from an impressive selection of 347 diverse works across a wide variety of artistic forms of expression. As is the Makers Alley tradition, entries are juried in two categories – emerging artists and experienced artists. The exhibition was open to New Hope Arts and Makers Alley members.
