Lydon explores new links lows

Posted

Kevin Lydon sure knows how to set a high bar.

In his debut for LaSalle on Sept. 10, freshman Lydon shattered the Explorers’ school record by carding a 10-under par 61 in the opening round of the Ryan T. Lee Memorial tournament at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington, Conn. CB West’s Lydon destroyed the old school record by four strokes.

The freshman carded 11 birdies, opening with three straight birds and closing with five more. Lydon ended up tied for fifth with a five under par 137.

La Salle, who finished third in the tournament, set a new 36-hole program record with a 10-under par score.

Last October, as a senior for CB West, Lydon helped the Bucks capture their first-ever District One 3A championship. CB West shot a 296 at Turtle Creek Golf Club, five strokes better than second-place West Chester Rustin.

Lydon went on to tie for 28th place at the PIAA 3A golf championships.
