Global Farm Party offered as fun filled educational event

Posted

The Delaware Valley MEDA Network Hub invites the community to its Global Farm Party to learn about MEDA’s work to create business solutions to poverty on a global scale.

The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 9, at Spring Creek Farm, 6312 Meetinghouse Road, Solebury.

As visitors explore the grounds of Spring Creek Farm, they will have many opportunities to see how MEDA partners with systemically marginalized communities to build and enhance sustainable agri-food systems that create decent work for the people, especially the women and youth of these communities.

Grab lunch and spend the afternoon on the farm.

Those who live and work on this land growing organic produce, beef, eggs, honey, herbs and flowers for their members and community feel blessed. Building the farm, supporting passionate young farmers, and inviting the community to enjoy it gives them as much joy as eating the great-tasting food they grow.

The community is invited to experience farming with them, and to hear about MEDA’s work investing in farm communities around the globe and how they are creating decent work for people living in poverty.

For 70 years MEDA has quietly and effectively invested in projects around the world that deliver business solutions to poverty, principally in farming and food production. MEDA partners with entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses that equip people with access to the resources they need to not just meet basic needs, but to work their way out of poverty.
