Fred Beans Subaru donates nearly $30,000 to Autism Cares and other charities

Posted

Fred Beans Subaru of Doylestown has donated nearly $30,000 to support five different charities through the annual Subaru Share the Love Event.

The dealership recently presented nearly $24,000 of the funds raised to a local charity selected, the Autism Cares Foundation out of Southampton.

Throughout December, Subaru of America Inc. and participating retailers, like Fred Beans, work in partnership to sell vehicles with the intention to make a difference with each sale. Subaru donates $250 for each new car sold and delivered to one or more nonprofits selected by the dealership where the sale is made. Fred Beans makes an additional contribution, adding $50 for each sale during this most recent campaign. The combined contributions resulted in Fred Beans raising $29,865.

Each retailer has the option to donate to a charity selected by Subaru or choose a Hometown Charity. Each can also spread a donation out to support more than one cause.

For 15 years, Subaru has identified the same four national charities to receive donations: ASPCA, The Make a Wish Foundation, Meals onWheels and The National Parks Foundation. Fred Beans Subaru of Doylestown chose to contribute to all four of these charities in addition to the Autism Cares Foundation as its Hometown Charity.

Contributions to the Southampton-based Autism Cares Foundation support a day program and events for individuals in the area living with disabilities and their families. In addition to a much-anticipated prom night, the Foundation organizes roughly 200-250 free opportunities for fun and engagement, including renting entire roller-skating rinks, trampoline parks and more.

General Sales Manager Todd Mock led engagement with new car buyers about Share the Love and the opportunity to contribute to this Hometown Charity. For the last 11 years, Mock and his wife, Lisa, have grown to appreciate the work of the Autism Cares Foundation, especially the events that they participate in with their son, Jake.

“It means a lot, because you can see how these donations affect others and the results of them,” said Mock. Speaking from his personal experience raising a son with autism, he said the donations help contribute to the “happiness” of so many in the special needs community. “It means the world to them,” he added.

Fred Beans has donated $308,281 to date, over the past 12 years, for a“Hometown Charity” through its annual participation in Share the Love.
