The Old Barracks Museum invites all to spend an evening with highly respected local historians and authors at its Fall Lecture Series to learn about the exciting history that helped shape New Jersey and the nation.

Robert W. Sands Jr. and Patricia E. Millen will speak about “Washington Crossing,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12. They return to discuss their book, which focuses on the historical site where General George Washington crossed the Delaware River with his Continental Army in 1776 to the Battle of Trenton.
William L. Kidder will give a talk on his book, “The Revolutionary World of a Free Black Man,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8. Kidder will discuss Jacob Francis’s experiences as an indentured servant, including his time as a soldier during the American Revolution, and later as a free man raising a family.
Lectures will be followed by a Q&A and book signing. Admission is free. Refreshments will be available.
