Friends of the Doylestown Library to host Community Book Sale

Posted

Books for all ages can be purchased at the Friends of the Doylestown Library Community Book Sale, April 13-14, at the Doylestown Library.

The sale will be open from 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, and from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Most of the gently-used donated books are $2 each. Children’s picture books are two for $1. Cash, Venmo, and credit cards are accepted.

Proceeds from the Community Book Sale will help fund Doylestown Library programs, services and equipment, including the monthly publication Book Page distributed free at the library, the popular Reading to the Dogs program held the first Saturday of each month, and special programs like Chair Yoga on Friday mornings.

“The book sale is just one of our fundraising events, which helps us to support these programs and other needs of the Doylestown Library,” said Steve Schreiner, president of the nonprofit, all-volunteer organization.

“The community generously donates books throughout the year, which our volunteers sort and organize,” said Liz McCarthy, chairperson of the Friends Book Sale Committee. “This makes shopping at our book sale a pleasure – we make sure the books are in excellent condition, and set up the sale so that folks can easily find what they want.”

The Spring Community Book Sale will be held in the Pearl S. Buck room of the Doylestown Library Center, 150 S. Pine St., Doylestown. Visit the Friends at friendsofdtownlibrary.org or on social media.
