Elizabeth Pitcairn to perform at Bucks County Symphony Orchestra 70th anniversary celebration

The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra 70th anniversary celebration – Cocktails on the Terrace – Saturday, Sept. 24, at Doylestown Country Club, will feature violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcairn.

The gala event runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m., with butlered hors d’oeuvres and a premium open bar. Cocktail attire is suggested.

Honorary Chairs for Cocktails on the Terrace are members of the Eastburn family – board members, board presidents, musicians and financial donors – demonstrating a legacy of support of the orchestra for nearly 70 continuous years.

They are represented by D. Rodman Eastburn, son of David and Sandy Eastburn, co-founders of the BCSO in 1953. Christopher and Whitney Chandor are underwriters for this celebratory event.

A performance by world-renowned violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcairn highlights a festive evening of food, fun, and musical entertainment. will perform in partnership with her legendary 1720 Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius, accompanied by BCSO assistant conductor Sebastian Grand on piano and BCSO principal cellist Noelle Casella Grand. Bob Egan will provide piano entertainment during the cocktail hour preceding the recital.

Maestro José Luis Domínguez will be introduced to the community as the 5th music director in the BCSO’s 70-year history. One of Chile’s most prominent conductors, Domínguez currently serves as music director of the Temple University Symphony Orchestra and artistic director of the New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestras.

Cocktails on the Terrace benefits the BCSO’s youth education programs and community concerts. Tickets may be purchased at BucksCountySymphony.org via a link accessible on the homepage. General ticket prices are $150 per person ($50 tax deductible) and $100 for individuals under age 40 (no tax deduction). Reservations will be accepted through Sept. 17.
